Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field Therapy (PEMF)

PEMF

PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) Therapy is a form of cellular exercise. All cells produce energy, and all energy is electromagnetic in nature. The device produces a pulsed electromagnetic field down the loops and into the desired body part, delivering beneficial, health-enhancing electromagnetic fields and frequencies to the cells.

Cellular Exercise

PEMF is a method of cellular exercise, but what does that mean?

The simplest explanation is that PEMF therapy is like a whole-body battery re-charger. Healthy cells have a membrane charge of about -70 millivolts. An unhealthy or aged cell membrane will have a much lower charge. A cancer or tumor cell membrane can have a charge as low as -15 millivolts.

PEMF helps to raise the voltage of the cell membrane back to the healthy -70 millivolts, and stimulate all sorts of intracellular activity from ATP production, nutrient utilization, and detoxification.

All PEMF does is provide cellular exercise to allow cells to function properly again. All health benefits that may result are simply a byproduct of the body’s cells returning to their optimal functioning capacity.

One of the most profound effects PEMF has on the body is the reduction of inflammation, swelling, and pain. PEMF reduces inflammation by recharging the cell surface with the electromagnetic current. This recharge reverses the sequence of inflammation, thus reducing associated pain and swelling. It also increases blood and oxygen supply to the site of injuries, providing the essential nutrients the body needs for healing.

Along with Inflammation reduction, PEMF therapy will set the stage for cell detoxification. By re-establishing a healthy cell membrane potential, ion channels are able to function properly, allowing nutrients and oxygen in, and cellular toxins out.

Cellular Effects of PEMF:

  • Stimulates DNA and RNA production

  • Restores membrane voltage to a healthy -70 millivolts

  • Stimulates the mitochondrial production of ATP

  • Increases cellular energy levels

  • Increases cellular oxygen, ion and nutrient levels

  • Promotes cellular healing and repair

  • Stimulates intercellular communication

  • Stimulates electron transport in cells

  • Accelerates protein synthesis

  • Enhances cellular tissue elasticity with increased collagen production

Biological Effects of PEMF:

  • Decreases pain

  • Reduces inflammation and swelling

  • Increases range of motion

  • Speeds healing and recovery

  • Increases tensile strength in ligaments

  • Enhances capilary formation

  • Accelerates nerve regeneration

  • Induces detoxification of cells and organs

  • Reduces fibrous tissue formation

  • Stimulates release of endorphins

  • Increases calcium transport and absorption for stronger bones, joints, and muscles

  • Boosts the immune system

Synergistic Possibilities

Combining PEMF with other therapies would increase the effectiveness of the therapies.

For example, high doses of vitamin IVs done after a PEMF session would cause the cells to function optimally, allowing for better nutrient uptake. Sauna treatments after a PEMF session would allow the cells to function optimally, and result in an increased detoxification effect.

PEMF session would even allow you to better assimilate nutrients obtained through supplementation and foods.

This is why PEMF sessions are often suggested and used in conjunction with other treatment modalities.

Clarification on Electromagnetic Fields

PEMF therapy is not the same as the harmful EMFs.  Man-made EMFs come from electrical wiring and equipment like power lines, communications towers, fluorescent lighting, microwave ovens, hair dryers, electric blankets, TVs, computers, cell phones, and tablets to name a few. These produce an “electrosmog” that is disruptive to cell metabolism. EMFs are a strong inducer of stress in the body and, therefore, drain our energy.

Pulsed Electro Magnetic Fields are not the same specifically due to the first word, pulsed. The device delivers a specific sine wave, but the pulsing of that wave only generates the top portion of the wave.
